Auto Accident Checklist:

It goes without saying, that when involved in an auto accident the most important thing to do is to take care of your injuries.  But, as often is the case, personal injuries especially those involving soft-tissue may not be evident until sometime after the accident.  So, it is important in those instances that the injured person take the proper steps to better increase their chance of recovery.  Below is a non-exhaustive list of things which could potentially increase the chance of recovery for an innocent person involved in an auto accident:

1-make sure to get the personal contact information of the negligent driver as well as the contact information of their insurer

2-take pictures of the accident, including the damage to all of the vehicles involved (cell phone pictures work just as well as any)

3-try to find out whether there were any witnesses to the accident and, if so, get their contact information as well, and call them afterward and request a statement

4-contact the authorities, even when on private property although they may not be able to issue a citation, often times they will note the facts and provide an incident report

5-see a medical healthcare provider at the first sign of injury discuss in detail with the doctor your personal injury

6-contact an attorney/lawyer and provide him/her with all of the above information

Although much of this information appears to be common sense, it often gets overlooked as a result of the stress involved during and shortly after an auto accident.

Like many types of cases, Richard will take your personal injury case on contingency fee, meaning you pay nothing for his fees unless he is able to recover for you (of course, even on contingency fee cases, the client is responsible for all case costs).

Know your rights and seek the compensation you deserve for your personal injury!Whether your personal injury claim involves or arises out of an automobile accident / car wreck, chemical exposure, slip and fall / trip and fall, premise liability, toxic tort, wrongful death, truck accident / 18 wheeler wreck, medical malpractice or intentional tort, Richard Voorhies, Attorney at Law can help.

Furthermore, Richard has handled cases for families and businesses located throughout Louisiana, including those arising out of a casualty loss or a business interruption.  From claims involving property damage caused by a hurricane to those to those stemming from an economic loss sustained as a result of the BP oil spill, Richard has the case management paradigm in place to ensure that your financial interests are adequately protected going forward.  And, regardless of the context of your claim, Richard personally handles each case and prides himself in establishing a personal relationship with each of his clients.
